Going Back to Normal
Going back to the way it was before the virus will not be possible, nor should we strive to do so. We are at the precipice of change. This is a unique opportunity to pause, reevaluate, and decide to take actionable steps to support a decentralized local food system that is more resilient, sustainable, and nutritious. Folks are starting to see the vulnerabilities in our centralized food system and are seeking out local producers to fill the void. So much so that many small scale farmers and makers are selling out each week. Our hope is that 1 percent of our population makes the shift to supporting our local food communities. The number one goal for this project is to provide a centralized portal of information for the community. A portal that connects farmers, producers, permaculturalists, foragers, and other food experts with the general public.
